Louis Cornacchia, M.D. is President and CEO of Doctations Inc. Dr. Cornacchia is a graduate of Columbia College (82) and NYU School of Medicine (87). He is a board certified neurosurgeon with a practice in Nassau County, New York. The concepts underlying Doctations were developed by Dr. Cornacchia over a nine-year period of research and development. He is dedicated to improving healthcare by providing Doctations services for doctors and a portal called iMedicalHome for patients. He believes that technology can overcome many of the problems facing healthcare today, including soaring costs, physician discontent and the medical malpractice crisis. Doctations is the first step toward that solution.
Louis Cornacchia, Sr.
Louis Cornacchia, Sr. (Director) received his BSEE from Manhattan College School of Engineering. He was employed at Hazeltine Electronics as an engineer and designed a signal processor and radar display system for the SAGE system, the TPS-1 ground-based search radar system and AWACS power systems. He was chief engineer at Victory Electronics in charge of development of night vision systems for the Fort Dix Army Command. He founded Collins Consultants Int'l LTD in 1969 to provide specialized engineering services in both the nuclear and military/industrial technology communities. Mr. Cornacchia founded Scinetix in 1987 to provide frequency environmental impact studies to Westinghouse Corp., Martin Marietta, IBM, and Grumman Corp., among many others. Scinetix also provides mobile radio cellular EMF/ antenna design studies for most of the cellular companies in the NY tri-state region. Mr. Cornacchia is a member of the board of directors of several companies, including Reliance Bank and Axonyx Corporation. He is a member of the advisory board of Patriot National Bank.
James C. Walsh, Esq.
James C. Walsh, Esq. (Director), graduated from the University of Alabama (59) and University of Alabama Law School (66). He is a member of the New York and Louisiana Bar Associations. Mr. Walsh is currently President of Namanco Productions, Inc., specializing in the marketing and management of professional athletes and entertainers. During the course of his professional career, Mr. Walsh has served as director for several public companies including Vestin Mortgage and CBS Sportsline?, where he was instrumental in raising first-round funding. Mr. Walsh is married to Yvonne LaFleur, a successful retail operator and clothing designer who, for the past 30 years, has owned and operated her namesake ladies retail store Yvonne LaFleur in New Orleans.
Steven B. Ratoff
Steven B. Ratoff (Director) received his B.S. in Business Administration from Boston University and an M.B.A. with Distinction from the University of Michigan. Mr. Ratoff began his career at Arthur Anderson and Co. where he worked from 1965-1975. He joined Bristol Myers and was there until 1991 where his last position was EVP and CFO of the Bristol Myers Squibb Pharmaceutical Group. He then moved to Brown-Forman Corp. where he was EVO and CFO until 2001. Since December, 2004 he has served as a venture partner with ProQuest Investments, a healthcare venture capital firm. Mr. Ratoff serves on the Board of several public and privately held corporations
Dr. Charles Colangelo
Dr. Charles Colangelo, (Director) of Middle Island and Fort Ann, NY, was born in New York City and spent the major portion of his life in Nassau County, NY. Dr. Colangelo received an ME Degree from Stevens Institute of Technology along with Master's and Doctoral degrees from St. John?s University. He served as a Lieutenant in the U.S. Navy during World War II, after which he worked as an engineer at the Long Island Lighting Company. He later moved to Nassau BOCES as Assistant Superintendent for Planning from which he retired and started his own legislative consulting firm representing the Towns of Hempstead, North Hempstead, and Oyster Bay, as well as several other clients. Throughout his career, Dr. Colangelo has been active in community activities and is past President of the North Merrick and BOCES school boards. He is past President of the MHA of Nassau County and the NY State MHANY. He served as President of the Fort Ann Town Planning Board for five years. Currently, Dr. Colangelo serves as an Arbitrator for the NYSE and the NASD. He is married to the former Mirium Looney from Wantagh, N.Y. Dr. Colangelo can be reached at ccolangelo@doctations.com.
Advisory Boards
The Doctations project recognized early on, the importance of including all stakeholders in the research and development process. The Advisory boards were established approximately four years ago to serve this purpose. In fact, the 4 pod design of the Doctations interface was a direct result of discussion with the first three advisory boards.
Members of the advisory board serve on a voluntary basis without salary. Advisory board members have been awarded stock options in the past for their contributions.
Issues regarding privacy, especially our privacy policy regarding teenagers, are also the result of discussion on these advisory boards. Physician Advisory Board
The Physician Advisory Board is the first advisory board assembled by the Doctations project. This advisory board consists exclusively of doctors, nurses, physician assistants, and nurse practitioners who provided insights on the Doctations system from the healthcare provider’s point of view. This group’s purpose is to prepare recommendations regarding inclusion of new functionality consistent with the primary goal of Doctations to empower and strengthen the doctor-patient relationship.
Patient Advisory Board
The Patient Advisory Board was initiated approximately three months after initiating the Physician Advisory Board, based on a recommendation of physicians on that board. Patients particularly have distinguished with chronic illness or requiring special care on an ongoing basis.
Business Advisory Board
The Business Advisory Board consists of members of the healthcare business community such as hospital executives, insurance company executives, banks executives, billing service company executives, pharmaceutical company executives and transcription company executives. This group has provided insights into the roles that the Doctations on demand software must fill for the various stakeholders. Its ongoing mission is to provide guidance in our effort to catalyze positive change in the healthcare industry by strengthening the doctor patient relationship and the role of the physician in healthcare reform.
Legal Advisory Board
The Legal Advisory Board consists of attorneys in every aspect of medical law including HIPAA, medical legal, malpractice, and medical corporate law. These attorneys have stressed the importance of achieving levels of privacy substantially above the HIPAA law. These attorneys have also provided valuable insights into the designed requirements needed to achieve compliance in multiple aspects in medical law.
Members of all advisory boards serve on a volunteer basis without remuneration. Advisory board members are periodically rewarded with stock options for their contributions.
